General Information
School Library
Students will visit our school library once a week as a class for library instruction and book checkout. It is my expectation that the students are using this time to select books of choice to aid them in meeting their individual independent reading goals for the year. Students are allowed to checkout a maximum of two books per week; however, students will not be allowed to checkout books if they have any outstanding fines or have neglected to return previously checked out materials. Our library day is currently scheduled for Mondays from 9:00-9:45 a.m.
Classroom Library
In addition to the school library, we have a classroom library comprised of my personal books and donations received over the years. Students may checkout one book per week from the classroom library. I have a wide variety of genres and reading levels, including books that are designated for more mature readers. If your child selects a book that you are not comfortable with, have your child return it to me and he or she will be able to select another more appropriate book. I may send an email home asking for your permission prior to allowing your child to checkout a mature book.
If a book is lost or damaged, I simply ask that you replace it.
